Got it now? Oh, come on, of course you do. Terese Ramin is funny, more than a bit unusual, and definitely smarter than the average bear. And Precious Child, aka Janice, aka Causes Trouble, is all those things and more.

This novella is part of a book called Sex on the Beach. Terese is joined by Sydney Somers, Betty Hanawa and Beverly Rae. The other novellas are entertaining, but I LOVE Janice and the setting for her story, poetically called Brokenoggin Falls in the land of Up North.

Janice grows up in a neighborhood containing gods and goddesses, coyotes, lonely Norwegian bachelors, Jesuits, wolves and werewolves, French-Canadian trappers, lumberjacks and Wendigos, to mention only a few. And as the story begins, the smartest deity Up North gets bored and decides to teach everyone that he has a sense of humor where sex, souls and shapeshifting are concerned.

This, in a very convoluted way, leads to Precious Child, whose very complicated life leads to her having many names including Causes Trouble and, finally, the name she sort of chooses for herself, Janice.

The title to this novella tells you exactly what it's about - how Janice got that way. I'm not going to tell you what that way, it's all part of the fun of reading this novella. After you download it from Triskelion (www.triskelionpublishing.com) I'd recommend that you pour yourself a glass of wine before you start reading, but be careful (or drink white instead of red) because you're likely to laugh hard enough to spew the wine all over your white blouse or tablecloth. And another thing. You'll probably not want to read this on the subway or when your kids are in the same room.
