About Me

My photo
I live on the ocean, write women's fiction, love to read so much that it's an addiction rather than a hobby (I read an average of a book a day). I live on the wet west coast so it's a good thing that I like to walk in the rain.

A Moveable Feast

No, I'm not going to be talking about Hemingway though I did borrow the title from him. And I bet he'd be delighted about this post anyway - it's sensual. And I always think of Hemingway as a very sensual writer.

Over the past couple of weeks, I've had the pleasure of eating several meals with someone who really loves to eat, who loves food, who savors it, the smell of it, the taste of it, the texture of it. It doesn't matter whether the person is male or female, whether they're sitting at my dinner table (though that is especially satisfying because I love to cook and I especially love to cook for someone, anyone who loves to eat). It's amazing how seldom that happens.

It's a very sexy thing to sit across the table from someone who enjoys every morsel he puts in his mouth - I love to watch. I love to watch the look on his face when he puts a bit of perfectly done steak in his mouth. I follow the fork as it dips into the crisp fresh salad, adds just the right amount of dressing and then transfers it lovingly to his mouth. I watched him eat figs, biting into the sweet tender flesh and enjoying each bite of it. Sushi, baked potatoes, it didn't seem to matter what it was - maybe because he knows what he likes and only orders that - he enjoyed every bite.

Add a glass of wine, the first sip cool on his tongue - wow. I don't think I saw him put a single thing in his mouth that he didn't love. And how unusual is that?

How often do you eat with someone who doesn't enjoy their food? Or even worse, isn't even aware of what they're eating? At least if you don't like it, you're aware of it - but if you just put food or drink into your mouth because it's necessary, you're missing out on one of the greatest pleasures of life. It doesn't mean you have to overeat, that you have to eat everything put in front of you - but just try it sometime.

Find someone you know loves food and then really pay attention to them while they're eating something they particularly love. It's a wonderful experience. I promise.

You love to cook, I love to be fed... I'll be there in an hour.

Hey, why's Kate packing her bags? LOL, just kidding.

Is this why people stare at me while I'm stuffing pasta into my mouth with two forks like a bulldozer? :D

Great topic!!!

Song of Deborah

...They chose new gods; then was war in the gates... Awake, awake, Deborah: awake, awake, utter a song... the LORD made you have dominion over the mighty... Curse ye Meroz, said the angel of the LORD, curse ye bitterly the inhabitants thereof; because they came not to the help of the LORD, to the help of Justice against the mighty... Have they not divided the prey; to every man a damsel or two? So let all thine enemies perish, O LORD: but let them that love him be as the sun when he goeth forth in his might. And the land rest forty years. Judges 5.

Deborah Palfrey deserves the Pemberton Award for Clean Governance.
Palfrey list is like the Black Book of 1918.
That Trial of the century is deleted from all books.
The list there had 47000 names.
The list here has 46000 phone bills.
The listed are not womenizers, machos or ordinary sinners.
They are power brokers, gay lutheran shock n awe blitzkrieg agitators of all wars and all panics.
These wretches are one dirty cover to the real pimps deep undercover.
A curse on the kingpins, Justice Charles Darling then and Judge Adolph Kramer Kessler now.
