About Me

My photo
I live on the ocean, write women's fiction, love to read so much that it's an addiction rather than a hobby (I read an average of a book a day). I live on the wet west coast so it's a good thing that I like to walk in the rain.

Sandwiched!

That's how I've felt for the past ten days - sandwiched between my dad (who's been very ill and lives an hour's drive away) and my work (two sets of deadlines for the end of the month).

Add to that the regular life that we all have to live - and given that it's my birthday with all the social events that entails - I've been really pushed.

The good news is that my dad's much better and I think he's well on the way to recovery. That takes some of that pressure off - but I'm still 10 days behind. The other good news? It's spring and it's gorgeous out - which means I can stay up later and get up earlier and feel great.

More good news? Because it's my birthday, I've been out to dinner a lot - and to some of my favorite places. And I still have two more dinners to go. One tonight and one Friday night. I definitely can't complain about that.

But those lost 10 days mean I need to get going on all the things I haven't been able to do for the past week and a half. And I'm at them - at least one of them - and enjoying every minute of it. Now all I have to do is push myself to do the thing (it's a technical manual) that I don't want to do and I'll be feeling perfect.

I cannot believe I missed your birthday and here it was written down on my notes, too. Hugs and love, Kate, and a card is on the way, if a little late.
