About Me

My photo
I live on the ocean, write women's fiction, love to read so much that it's an addiction rather than a hobby (I read an average of a book a day). I live on the wet west coast so it's a good thing that I like to walk in the rain.

Come Fly With Me

I need some company, someone to keep me entertained on the way to the airport, the hours at the airport, and on the plane. I'm off from Vancouver to Edmonton this afternoon and spent most of the night (I'm already a bit of a frightened flyer) listening to the news from England. And now I have to be at the airport 3 hours early - sans water, sans hair gel, sans shampoo and toothpaste.

Okay, not exactly sans, I have packed them in my suitcase - which I now have to check rather than carry on.

Nervous? Me? Scared to death. But I decided a few years ago - after I had a panic attack on a plane - that it wasn't going to let me miss things I really wanted to do. And I'm not going to let the terrorists do it either.

So I'm off to Edmonton to the folk festival - Linda Ronstadt, the Neville Brothers and the Blind Boys of Alabama. Now maybe one of the three wouldn't be enough to get me on the plane today - but all three of them? I'm there.

I'll keep you posted so you'll know that it was worth it. I'm sure it will be. Really.

Kate
