About Me

My photo
I live on the ocean, write women's fiction, love to read so much that it's an addiction rather than a hobby (I read an average of a book a day). I live on the wet west coast so it's a good thing that I like to walk in the rain.

Ontario Farmhouse

I'm on my way home this afternoon, but I spent the morning wandering around Ottawa on the most glorious fall morning. The sky was blue, it was cool but not cold, the sun was shining, and the clouds added texture to the sky. I didn't want to go inside but I did - I went into the National Gallery one last time to look at my favorite pictures again - and this time, I've given you a copy of one of them, Glen Schaefer's Ontario Farmhouse.
The other paintings are unavailable but I'll see if I can find them for you when I get home.
Tomorrow it's back to work for me. I have a novella - Summertime Blues - and a novel - Seeing Death - to finish before the end of October. So this was a lovely interlude in the middle of writing and working. And I enjoyed every minute of it.
I've been thinking about writing a bit while I've been away. Okay, let me rephrase that. I've been thinking about writing a lot because I've been at a writing conference, but I haven't been thinking about my own writing all that much. It's been in the back of my mind but not too seriously.
But today? Today it's right there because I know I'm going back to it in the morning. And I'm looking forward to it.
Kate

Hi Kate,
So great to meet you in Ottawa, at the Sweet and Spicy conference. Your workshop was fabulous. And you certainly know how to get quick lunch service. It was lots of fun and hope the writing goes smoothly.
